sfBIG’s State of The News

April 21, 2021 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Putting Trust to The Test

The past year has put trust in business, government, and media to the test. Trust in all news sources has been driven to record lows with social media (35 percent) and owned media (41 percent) the least trusted; traditional media (53 percent) saw the largest drop in trust at 8 points globally.

With primary news sources no longer the only source. We have seen how our trust and our perspective of the media has changed. News Consumption, however, is still on a continuous rise. With global online media consumption doubling in 2020 we now are more connected than ever and with more news sources becoming common use to the public there is an incomprehensible amount of information. The more news that continues to pour out, the more opportunities there are for misinformation. Now more than ever, brands need to know the importance of having good information hygiene.

Join the sfBIG community on Wednesday, April 21st at 12pm as we partner with The Wall Street Journal to dive into how the state of news is evolving, unearth how social media has given voice to the masses, develop promising practices for information hygiene, and explore how these factors impact the marketing industry.
